Moving to Lugano
Moving to Lugano is possible in many different ways:
WALKING: being small, Lugano is easily visitable on foot, and you can enjoy its fantastic views
PUBLIBIKE: it’s a bike service with a yearly subscription or for use payment, furnished with normal or e-bikes
BUS: There are lots of buses that connect all the insides of the
city and it’s surrounding. There are lots of different subscription plans regulated in the Arcobaleno plan
If you need a place to park in Lugano, here’s what you need:
Free parking (Blue): 1 hr/day between 7.00-19.00, from 19.01-6.59, and on Sunday
Paid parking (White): 1-2 CHF/hr between 7.00-19.00
Autosilo/Public parking: many in the city, but really expensive (2+
CHF/hr). ATTENTION ⟶ : after 12 hrs you pay like a full day!!!
Train and subscriptions
There are lots of different tickets and discounts for trains. In Ticino, the Arcobaleno plan also works for trains
Useful discounts and subscriptions:
AG night: 99 CHF/year, <25 years old, you can move into all of Switzerland is free from 19.00 to 5.00
AG half fare: 180 CHF/year (> 25 years old) - 120 CHF/year (<25 years old), it lets you buy all the tickets (buses, trains, cable railways) for half the price
Youth daily ticket: 80 CHF, <25 years old, you can travel all of Switzerland up to 4 people
